''This Is It''.
Movie poster & Trailer. The trailer for "This Is It," - the documentary capturing rehearsal footage for what would have been Michael Jackson’s epic return to the stage - premiered as the finale of the 2009 Video Music Awards. It was a spectacular preview of what fans can expect to see October 28th when the film hits theaters for a two week engagement. “This is an adventure, a great adventure,” Jackson says of his show in the two-in-a-half-minute trailer. “We want to take them places that they’ve never before. We want to show them a time that they’ve never seen before.

The MTV Videos Music Awards were on last night in New York and well these things never do come with out a bit of controversy. Poor old Taylor Swift wins I think her first VMA for best 'female video' and is shocked. As she is making her speech thanking everyone and all that, Kanye West jumps up on stage. Grabs the mic and starts going on about how Beyonce should of won because she had a better video !
What I say to that : Sit the f%@k down man and let Swift have her moment ! Beyonce has won enough of these awards.......
Beyonce then went on to win 'video of the year' and got Taylor back up to finish her speech.........

Look who I'm going to see in November in Dublin's o2
A little bit of history:
A multi Brit Award winning English alternative rock band from High Green, a suburb of Sheffield. Formed in 2002, the band currently consists of Alex Turner (lead vocals, guitar), Jamie Cook (guitar), Nick O'Malley (bass guitar, backing vocals) and Matt Helders (drums, backing vocals).Arctic Monkeys achieved chart success with their second single, "I Bet You Look Good on the Dancefloor", which reached number one in the UK Singles Chart. Their debut album Whatever People Say I Am, That's What I'm Not, released in January 2006, became the fastest-selling debut album in British music history, surpassing Oasis's Definitely Maybe and remaining the fastest-selling debut album for a band. It received critical acclaim, winning both the 2006 Mercury Prize and the 2007 BRIT Award for Best British Album. It was also nominated for the Grammy Award for Best Alternative Music Album, but lost to Gnarls Barkley's St. Elsewhere. The band's second album, Favourite Worst Nightmare, was released on 23 April 2007, sold over 225,000 copies in its first week, and was nominated for the 2007 Mercury Prize. The group also picked up the award for Best British Album and Best British Group at the 2008 BRIT Awards.

Derren Brown correctly predicts National Lottery numbers

Derren Brown, the illusionist, has correctly predicted the National Lottery numbers live on television.
Channel 4 screened Brown's attempt to call Wednesday's draw across its five channels - the first time the broadcaster has given over its entire network to a single event.
He promised to explain to viewers how he achieved the feat in a show on Friday.
A smiling Brown said ''I can't believe it'' when he turned over the numbers he said he had selected in advance to reveal they matched all six in the official draw.
The stunt marked the start of a new series of television tricks from Brown, whose past shows have seen him perform Russian Roulette live, apparently contact the dead in an interactive seance and convince members of the public to take part in the robbery of an armoured security van.
He set up the Lottery event in a secret studio location, telling viewers only he and two cameramen were present.
After explaining the line of balls on display contained the numbers he had predicted earlier in the day, he said he would not be able to show them to the public until after the BBC had screened the draw.
To prove his show was live he switched on a television in the studio showing the BBC1 National Lottery draw programme.
''We are absolutely live and in synch with the BBC,'' he said.
As he waited for the draw machine to be launched, a nervous-looking Brown apologised to viewers in case he got the numbers wrong.
''I should say this is the culmination of a year's obsession over this,'' he said. ''I have had Lottery numbers all up over the walls of my house.
''I am feeling a little bit sick.
''Please wish me luck.
''If it goes wrong...I'm really sorry.''
Brown kept his hand firmly to his mouth as he watched the draw - for a jackpot of £2.4m - on the television screen.
He was silent as the six winning numbers appeared - 2, 11, 23, 28, 35, 39.
Holding a card up with the numbers written on it, Brown then turned over his row of balls which were exact matches for the six.
He said: ''Those are the numbers.
''That's a year of my life right there.
''I can't believe it.''
He told viewers to tune in on Friday when he promised to explain how he did it.
Before Brown's stunt, a spokesman for the Lottery said that 70 per cent of the adult population of the UK would be trying to emulate Brown's trick and guess the numbers.
''It is impossible to affect the outcome of the draw and Derren Brown is not suggesting he is doing this,'' the spokesman said.
''Derren Brown is an illusionist creating an illusion that he can predict the numbers.''
Brown's new four-part series, entitled The Events, continues on September 18 with How To Control The Nation, in which Brown investigates subliminal messages.
The following episode, How To Be A Psychic Spy, on September 25, will examine the psychic arms race that grew up between the US and Russia during the Cold War, and the series ends with How To Take Down A Casino on October 2.

The Late Late Shows new face..........

As I had a quiet night in on Friday, I found myself in front of the TV. There was lots on. Such as the Big Brother final, Jonathan Ross and The Late Late Show. It was the first show of brand new host Ryan Tubridy so I said I'd watch it. Now I was never really a fan of The Late Late when Pat Kenny was hosting it. I think it was just because he was kinda boring and very lifeless on screen, which isn't a good thing since it's live TV and two and half hours long. I use to always watch it when I was a wee little kid when uncle Gaybo was on. Gay Byrne was almost part of the family on Friday nights and we would all be tuned in.
I felt excited about seeing Ryan Tubridy taking over the rains of the worlds longest running chat show because I was a big fan of Tubridy Tonight and didn't wan Tubs to move to The Late Late because I thought his own show was only getting better and I thought he be as funny or geeky like he was on his own show and I was saying, he might get a bit serious because The Late Late deals with all the politics and serious matters that are happening in Ireland or sometimes even around the world. Of course there is fun bits on the Late Late and I can't wait to see how Tubs presents the Toy Show ! That should be a fun one to watch.
Taoiseach Brian Cowen got the number one slot as the first guest on the show and this was a big interview for Tubs. This was going to show us could he handle the pressure of live TV with one of the country's most hated man at the moment but he just dived into it and he gets a 10/10 for the big interview ! He asked all the right questions and he ask the questions that everyone wants to hear the answers too. Even though he didn't want the Taoiseach to walk off or anything he manages to ask curling questions and always got the answers he and the rest of the country who was tuned in was waiting to hear. During the interview Tubridy got applauded a few times for asking the right questions and straight away got the crowd on his side.
So all in all Tubs did great and made a great first impression in the hot seat of a legendary show.
Can't wait for next week and many more to come.......... was up to take over the hot seat on The Late Late Show, the worlds longest running chat show, so I said I'll
Check out the artical in the Independent after Cowen was on The Late Late.....
Taoiseach upset at Late Late ‘mugging’
A clearly upset Mr Cowen spoke exclusively to the Sunday Independent in the Green Room of RTE immediately after he came off the show.
Referring to a broadly similar interview he did with me three weeks ago, he said: “At least you gave me a chance to answer.”
The Taoiseach was anxious to play down any potential controversy which may arise from the interview. “What’s done is done,” he said, “I will just move on.”
It can be revealed, however, that several senior figures in RTE are said to be unhappy at the way in which Mr Tubridy conducted the set-piece interview.
An RTE executive told the Sunday Independent on Friday night: “Ryan’s questions were fine, but he didn’t give the Taoiseach enough time to answer. He probably should have given him a bit of space.
“But it was Ryan’s first programme. It was a big night for him. Maybe he was just a bit nervous. That’s the way it came across to me.”
Immediately after the show, Mr Tubridy said he “did not feel the need to prove anything” by his adopting a tough, some would say overly aggressive, line of questioning with the Taoiseach.
He said he had put a lot of preparation into the interview and felt it was appropriate that he should put his questions to Mr Cowen in the manner he chose.
“I thought about it a lot,” he said. “We are at a turning point in the country’s history. I felt I had a duty that the questions be difficult.”
Was He To Hard On Him. Did He Give Enough Time To Answer ?

Movie news.....

The animated favorite “The Smurfs” has a release date set for the film adaption of the children’s classic, December 17th, 2010 (US dates), bringing a smile to “Smurf” fans around the world. The film is a combination of live-action footage and CGI special effects that will depict the lovable blue creatures in a “smurfy” 3-dimensional format, such as the recent hits “Alvin and the Chipmunks,” “Scooby-Doo,” and “Underdog.”

While I was in Red FM tonight I spotted 'Cork Talks Back' host Victor Barry's wallpaper on his PC and it was of CBS 'Late Night' talk show host David Letterman, it was pretty was cool. Gotta find that picture actually.
As we got talking about him we began talking of other talk show host on U.S TV and Conan O'Brien name popped up. He would be a favourite of mine only because he was the first I had herd about. So I stared watching clips of Conan O'Brien and really started to like his show and the way he hosted it.
Conan O'Brien likes to call himself part Irish (what American doesn't?) because of his red hair. He also has his trad mark dance which he likes to call 'The string Dance' and his personality is to me a bit weird but fun and he is more or less a history geek.
He took over the Late Night slot on NBC in September 1993 from David Letterman who left NBC to later join CBS because he was not given the hot seat on NBC's prime time talk show 'The Tonight Show'. Before all this O'Brien was a writer and producer for The Simpson's but now he is the host of 'The Tonight Show' since 2009.
Anyways. The reason I'm bringing all this up is because I found some videos of Conan O'Brien on his old 'Late Night' show, check them out.....
What might have been said ?
Talk to the hand......

Unlike the dummies he sticks his hands inside, comedian/ventriloquist Jeff Dunham is accused of being full of crap -- because a production company is suing him for allegedly being a big, fat liar.
A company called Montivagus claims they approached Jeff in 2006 to appear in a ventriloquism documentary they were making called "I'm No Dummy."
Montivagus claims after they filmed Jeff for the doc, he signed releases giving the company full rights to all aspects of the movie, including distribution.
The company claims Jeff suddenly backed out of their agreement in 2009 ... after Jeff realized he may have "violated other legal obligations" by signing the release -- especially ones he had with Comedy Central.
Montivagus says Jeff's new demands were for "full distribution rights to the Documentary" -- among a bunch of other stuff.
Jeff is being sued for an amount yet to be determined.
Weird Story : Dog given parking ticket ?!
An Australian traffic warden fixed a parking ticket to a dog's lead after it was 'parked' illegally outside a shopping centre. The dog was tied to a fence outside Darwin's Rapid Creek market when it was approached by two city council traffic wardens, the Northern Territory News reports.
One of the inspectors wrote out a ticket - and taped it to the dog's lead.
Witness Ray McEvoy said he couldn't believe his eyes.
"I watched an elderly lady and her very faithful blue heeler roll up at the market. The lady tied the dog to the fence and gave him a bowl full of water. And off she went into the markets," he said.
"Then two traffic inspectors came along. They had a bit of a talk and, to my amazement, wrote out a warning infringement notice for the dog and taped it to his lead rope."
Council spokesman Grant Fenton said a dog was considered to be "at large" if the owner was not there.
"You can't tie up a dog and leave it," he said.
If sky diving wasn't scary enough on it's own.

Record of the Week
Sorry it's late.
Ahh ya basterds.....

Went to cinema last night with friends but we couldn't decide what to see. It was between 'Funny People' or 'Inglorious Bastards'.
Inglorious Bastards won so it was a bit of history for 2 and a bit hours. Didn't think it was going to be that great. To me it was just another film that was being hyped up because Brad Pitt was in it and lets be honest, any film he is in people will always go out and pay to see him.
But anyways, back to the film. From the start I felt like I was watching a really old film. It's just the way the whole thing started up it was kinda old fashion which I liked because it was unusual to see. When I was told it was going to be gory, it wasn't a lie. We saw a guy get his head beaten in with a baseball bat and we saw a guy get the swastika carved into his head.
A lot of dialog was to be expected because of Quentin Tarantino but it was all good. The biggest action scene for me was towards the end when the film was based in a cinema. It was just explosion after explosion after explosion.........
All in all really liked the film. Worth a trip out the cine.

So as school is fast approaching my time on Red @ Work with Dave Mac is ending (for now) today. My last early alarm went off this morning and over the past month or so I actually enjoyed getting up really early on my summer holidays where it's suppose to be all about sleeping in and staying up late but not for me. Most nights were early and the mornings were evening earlyer then school. Sounds a bit sad.....but I loved it ! I still managed to go out to the lads and go to the odd party here and there but always managed to make it into Red in the mornings.
I know tomorrow morning when that alarm goes off to start my final year in B.C.S (Ballincollig Community School) and I sit up in bed and see that uni-form looking at me I wont want to get up. I think my mom will have to drag me out to the car.
Any free days off school and I'm back in the doors of Red unless I get kicked out that is.......
Thanks to Colm, Dave, Stevie G, Eimear, ahh feck it. Thanks to EVERYONE at Red !
Ice-cream cone jellys.......
I have a little obsession with these new sweets called rowntree's randoms (pictured above). The best random sweets in the pack are the ice-cream jelly cones. Got a pack on the way home one night and guess what ? I got 4 ice-cream jelly cones. ''Sweet !''Now, the thing is Red fm's Chris Curtis from the Sunday show has this little obsession with these sweets aswell but he dosn't like the ice-cream cone jellys for some reason. So the war is on going and will be until I get him to say how nice the ice-cream cone jellys are. Haha !
